Got apples? Want juice?
Each fall, Bear Aware and the EcoGarden get together to ensure Fernie apples feed families, not bears. We bring out our apple press and offer the community the opportunity to use this amazingly effective, yet simple machine to make juice.
In 2011, the dates are Wednesday Sept 21st, 28th and Oct 4th.
To book your time slot be sure to visit the Wildsight Office at 891 2nd Ave. There are 40 minutes slots available for $10 each.
Recommendations
• Arrive a minimum of 15 minutes early to ensure you are set up and ready.
• Come even earlier to watch how it works if you haven’t used an apple press before.
• Bring a friend. You need some muscle to make this machine work. We recommend having a minimum of 2 people working the press to maximize you time and juicing ability.
• Clean your apples before you arrive.
• Bring multiple clean containers to store your juice in.
• Wear clothes/shoes you don’t mind getting wet or juicy
