July 15 Work Party

Our second Work Party for July is coming up on Wednesday the 15th, from 4pm to 8pm. Join us for all or part of that time to help with ongoing garden maintenance. We also remind you to enter your volunteer time in the notebook, whether you contribute during the Work Party or on your own at other times.

Construction of our perimeter fence is slated for this week so we'll be able to see the progress Eric and his crew are making. If you have netting protecting your plot you'll want to leave it up until the fence is completed because most likely the deer will be investigating the new barrier closely!

Garden2Market

The EcoGarden is promoting a new initiative for our table at the Mountain Market. We're inviting all Fernie gardeners to bring their surplus produce to sell at the market. Look for more information coming to our website soon, and pass along to anyone you know who is growing food in Fernie! We'll have more info at the Work Party and at the Mountain Market on Sunday, 10am - 2pm.

EcoGarden Picnic

Save the last Wednesday of the month (July 29th) for the EcoGarden potluck
picnic. Join us in the garden from 6-8pm to meet other plot holders, celebrate
the new fence and enjoy the garden. Bring a picnic blanket, beverages of your
choice, plate/cutlery/cup, a dish to share. Bonus points for using garden grown
ingredients.

Friday & Saturday, July 24 & 25 - next Keeping Food Real workshop: Foraging for Food. Learn about wild edible plants, wilderness safety, and join us for an afternoon hike on Mt. Hosmer.

Wednesday, July 29 - 6pm - Potluck Picnic at the EcoGarden. Families welcome. Join us, meet your co-gardeners, relax and celebrate! Bring your food offering (extra points for using local produce), as well as your own plate, cutlery, etc.
